And this is how our story began…………..
Maria Zichnali and Mihaela Martin, both teachers of English in junior high-schools of Greece (4th Junior High School of Serres) and Romania (School 9, Recita) gladly agreed to join the virtual e-class project that is being conducted by the Research Centre of English Language Teaching, Testing and Assessment (RCEL) of the University of Athens. We are presenting this blog as the final outcome of the project which gave our classes the opportunity to collaborate virtually with each other in order to create an e-book on folk tales, myths and traditional stories of our countries. Students had the chance to communicate in the language they are learning and they really practiced the target language within an authentic, communicative and challenging context. Through this programme we also managed to raise their intercultural awareness as well as we managed to make our lessons much more interesting, amusing and motivating for our pupils.
We are very grateful for the opportunity you gave us to deal with something so intriguing and truly different from what we have dealt with so far. Thank you for those two years of creativity since this was the second year we participated in this project. We hope that there will be more of it soon ………
